Local multi-instrumentalist Joe Kaptein returns with his latest full length album, Pool Sharks, which is also the debut release on the new label Jandal Records.

The tunes were recorded across 2024 with some of his frequent collaborators, who are collectively known as the band Pool Sharks. The follow up to 2024's groove-driven Eternal Afternoon, this set is a mellow, languid, cruisy listen. Opening with the fractalesque ponds of new agey, high class jazz ambiance of lead single Sleepy Space Cadet, through to the swampy, spaced-out album closer Cascade, the debut Pool Sharks album is a curious cocktail of vintage keyboards, reed instruments, glittering percussion, held down by a solid rhythm section.

Pool Sharks is the band, and Pool Sharks is also the album.
