Local Talent Taverna
With their relaxed vibe, Mediterranean inspired food and fabulous drinks menu Local Talent Taverna has been a favorite spot since it opened - not to mention they have a great soundtrack of music playing in the background (and some killer guest djs occasionally)
If you haven’t been or you’re passing through Te Tai Tokerau make sure you stop in, try some of the halloumi cheese with a glass of wine on tap or a cold beer!
Good Habits & Mishra
On the 7th of January Badgers Den Records hosted Good Habits & Mishra, two English folk groups for a concert at The Woodshed on Riverside drive – it was a beautiful evening of music, and both duos are still touring NZ so follow the links to their pages and make sure you try to get long and see them while they’re down in the Southern Hemisphere
Always a firm favourite in the Badgers Den – over these hot summer evenings we’ve been enjoying the Sea Spray Dry-Hopped Pilsner & the Van Life Unfiltered Pale Ale. Both are worth a try with a record playing in the background on a late summer evening with friends.
Northland beaches
With the cracking weather recently it seems like all of NZ has been up enjoying the Northland beaches! We can happily recommend Waipu Cove, Langs, Mimiwhangata (the campground is brilliant) and Whangaumu Bay – so many to choose from, get amongst it and have a swim (don’t forget that sunscreen thou!)
